Ikea Wants You to “Hack” Its New Furniture Line

LYSKRAFT is a new Ikea collection that’s intentionally DIY-capable.

On the heels of launching a series of uber-popular vintage designs, Ikea just released another, exceptionally meta collection called Lyskraft (Swedish for “luminosity”).

The collection, made up of more than 20 individual products, is primarily focused on the subculture that’s built up surrounding the hacking of Ikea products. Instead of jamming products that aren’t Ikea into Ikea products, the Swedish company created the beginnings of its own semi-DIY product ventures. The Poang chair arrives in three colors (blue, yellow, red) and with three cushion color options (blue, yellow, red). The unendingly popular (since the ’80s, mind you) Klippan loveseat comes in two new and alterable covers (plus your choice of stubby colored legs.

The rest of the collection — which isn’t exactly in-theme — is various dinnerware: napkins, plates, trays and glasses.

Lyskraft is available online and in stores now.
