This Award-Winning Blender Is Quieter Than a Whisper

It also has induction heat systems and automatic overflow control.

There’s a good chance you’d make more noise assembling Midea’s new BL1502A blender than you would actually using the thing. The blender, which isn’t yet available to consumers, recently won an iF Design Award for registering at 10 decibels when active. That’d be the same loudness of typical human breathing — or, exactly half the noise level of a normal whisper. The magic comes from a “mute mask,” that basically acts as an airtight, magnetic hood that locks in surrounding the blend chamber. The blender also features an overflow-detecting sensor, induction heating for soups or hot drinks and wi-fi connectivity.
