BioLite is well-known for its phone-charging, stick-fueled camp stoves but behind the scenes, it’s been developing a line of products designed to accomplish the brand’s founding mission: to bring safe, reliable and renewable energy to people living in developing nations. The first of those products to become available to the everyday consumer is the SolarHome 620, a portable, easy-to-install solar light and power source.
The SolarHome uses a six-watt solar panel to power three switch-activated overhead lights and includes handy USB charging ports in its 20-watt-hour control panel, which also doubles as a radio and contains a fourth light. The SolarHome 620’s portability and ease of use make it the perfect lighting upgrade for an off-grid shed, or a dimly-lit garage.
