For the average consumer, a rain head counts as a “fancy” shower system. But even the most luxurious options pale in comparison to Nebia, an outrageously high-tech, Kickstarter-funded device. By atomizing water into millions of mist-like droplets, Nebia covers a surface area 10 times greater than the average shower head. The steam room-shower hybrid uses 70 percent less water than standard shower heads, saving customers thousands of gallons of water and hundreds of dollars each year.
Nebia spent five years in development, spanning 12 different iterations and undergoing testing by more than 1,000 people. The hard work paid off — the shower system raked in more than $3 million during its Kickstarter campaign, and counts Apple CEO Tim Cook as an investor.
