Whereas percale is crisp and sateen skews luxe, linen boasts a barely-there airiness and unmatched absorbency.
Brooklinen’s new linen collection is available in three colors — pure white, cream and muted stripes. Prices start at $225 for a queen-sized set of fitted and flat sheets, plus two pillowcases — a notable increase from the $109 tag on Brooklinen’s percale set, or $149 for its sateen bundle. But if country of origin is any indicator of quality, Brooklinen looked in the right place: the new sheets are made in Portugal, a major textile (and linen-weaving) hub.
