Originally conceived in 1957 by Hans Battrud of Norway, the Scandia Series is a resurrected line of chairs brought back in 2001 by Paal Lunder of Fjord Fiesta (no, not the car). The recreation is an iconic Norwegian piece and a stunning piece of restrained furniture design, especially lacquered in American Walnut you see to the right. If you’re looking for some alternatives to the Eames Lounger, and budget isn’t a concern, consider the Scandia Senior Easy Chair as a prime candidate.
