Brita’s massive marketing budget may have established the company as the “king” of water filtration, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they make the best product. Take, ZeroWater for instance, which boldly touts the fact that its water is the only filtered water from a pitcher that meets the FDA definition for purified bottled water.
Unlike Brita, which uses a conventional gravity-fed charcoal water filter, the ZeroWater pitcher uses a patented 5-stage ion-exchange filter which claims to remove all Total Dissolved Solids or TDS’s from tap water. But ZeroWater doesn’t count on you just taking their word. Instead they prove the effectiveness of filter by including an independently made TDS Meter to test the quality of the water and compare it to that of other options (ahem, your Brita). The same meter is also used to check on the health of the Ion filter over time and alert drinkers when it’s time to be replaced. If you’re truly picky about your water, giving ZeroWater a shot just may be the best thing to happen to your life water this year.
