This Modular Bong Just Fixed One of the Biggest Problems with Glass Pipes

I thought Honest’s Capsule was everything I could ever want in a cannabis water pipe, but now, the brand has made it even better.

I’ve used a lot of bongs in my time, but none compare to the Honest Capsule water pipe. Not only do I appreciate the industrial-inspired design, but I also love the baked-in modularity that makes it easier to clean, travel with and store.

I honestly thought it was the perfect bong. But now the brand has made a seemingly small improvement that makes a huge difference, vaulting the Honest Smoked Capsule to my new favorite.

Always bet on black

When I say the change is small, I mean it. Most of what the bong already had going for it, thankfully, remains. And nothing of significance has been eschewed to make way for this change.

That means the bong retains its modularity — so you can take it apart to more easily clean or store it. It also still has its built-in magnetic lighter storage, a cleverly hidden debowler tool, the option for silicone covers on the top and bottom and so on.

So, what’s the big difference? It’s the glass. While still durable enough that you can put it through your dishwasher, it is now offered in a smoked version, as well as the original clear glass.

That simple change, in my opinion, improves the bong’s appearance. It makes it sleeker, stealthier and prettier. But it also has some secondary benefits many folks will likely appreciate.

Hidden benefits

One of my chief complaints about bongs with clear or lightly colored glass — an issue beyond the Honest Capsule — is how quickly they look dirty. Because the glass is transparent, the ash in the bong water shows through and sticks to the glass.

Unless you clean your bong after every single usage (let’s be real, nobody does that), it’s an unavoidable downside. While the smoked glass doesn’t stop this from happening, it does hide it much better.

You no longer have to worry about hiding your gorgeous water pipe away when company arrives.

While the smoked glass might also make it harder to tell when your bong is sparklingly clean at a glance, this is not a real downside. All you have to do is hold it up to the light, and you can still see anything still clinging to the sides.

This is a huge boon if, like me, you tend to leave your bong out for all to see. You no longer have to worry about hiding your gorgeous water pipe away when company arrives.

Pricing and availability

Normally, the Honest Smoke Capsule would be priced at $300. However, to celebrate 4/20, the brand launched a sale that dropped the new release down to $255.

Better still, the sale pricing applies to just about everything else Honest offers, including the new recycled plastic Rolling Tray.
