By unpacking key technological advances, he shows how cars are a result of relentless innovation and trial-and-error. With personal anecdotes about the cars he’s owned and whimsical illustrations, Rybczynski’s book offers a different take on how the automobile transformed society and our sense of style.

You’ve probably heard of tequila styles like blanco, reposado, and añejo tequila. Cristalino is a lesser-known style that combines what blanco and añejo tequila offer in many ways. It involves filtering aged tequila (often through charcoal, a la Jack Daniels) to remove the colors and some of the stronger woodier flavoring notes that the barrel aging process typically adds to the spirit. Patrón‘s take on the style leans even further into the “pure” vibes of the style and is made only from three ingredients: 100% Weber Blue Agave, water, and yeast. The spirit then ages in four different casks for 12 to 15 months. According to the brand, the taste profile is “sweeter” with “big, woody notes without overpowering the baked agave flavors.”

The result is a satisfying and low-key game that’s great for anyone looking to play something that doesn’t require 40+ hours to complete. Metacritic gives it a 85 overall rating.

While they’ll technically work well for tennis, padel, racquetball, or badminton, the rapid rise of pickleball was the critical driver Reebok had in mind with this release. A herringbone-patterned Griptonite rubber outsole provides the traction needed to start, stop, and cut, while a Flexweave upper adds extra support around the ankles to ensure wearers stay on the platform during side-to-side motion. There’s also a clear toe guard for protecting against toe scrapes. The shoe is available online in eight colors in a unisex and women’s version. Anker’s latest desktop charging station is the most power-user power station we’ve ever seen. The standout feature is a dedicated control knob for dictating how the charger’s 250W flows to charger’s four USB-C and two USB-A ports. While a default AI Power Mode will work to optimize charging speeds based on the number of devices connected, a port priority mode also allows users to choose two ports to maintain full power output regardless of other connections. Similarly, Laptop Mode will ensure that two laptops are connected via USB-C and will keep charging priority. Finally, a low current mode is available for slowly topping off connected devices while preserving battery longevity. The device’s integrated screen displays charging information for each port and can also function as a small desktop clock when a screensaver mode kicks on.

The final result is a collection of three new rackets designed for everyday players looking for the best. The RF 01 PRO, as the name suggests, is Roger’s personally built professional-grade racket and the most expensive option. The RF 01 is slightly cheaper and designed for players looking for a standard-weight racket. The final RF 01 FUTURE is the most affordable version. It’s a lighter take on the design intended for younger players interested in a balance between weight and power.

Oris ProPilot X is one of the cleanest-looking watches to launch in the last few years. It’s made of titanium, which is super light to wear and highly durable. It’s available in a variety of striking dial colors, too. We particularly like the salmon pink dial version, which was well ahead of this year’s pink watch trend. This is a rare sports watch that a couple could share and equally love.

This is in many ways a riff on the original Q3 launched in May 2023. It’s nearly identical outside the longer, aspherical APO-Summicron 43mm f/2 lens attached to the front, a grey leatherette coating and a number 43 engraved into the hotshot. It is also 15 percent more expensive than the original price point of the Q3. Nevertheless, the new focal length is a crucial change for photography fans pining for a premium camera with a field of view that does its best to mirror the viewport we naturally see through our eyes. The device itself is also a robust cleaning machine paired with the company’s most advanced dock to date. It’s capable of basically doing everything for you. It’ll vacuum and mop your floor, empty its dust bin, refill its mop water tank, and even clean and dry the mop.
Smoke, sear, roast and more — all with one grill. True to its name, the grill’s searing capabilities are an obvious differentiator. However, plenty of other features make Weber’s pellet grill stand out in a crowded field. The Searwood’s extensive temperature range of 180 to 600 degrees means users can also smoke or roast to their heart’s content. And, except for the initial start-up, they can do it all remotely via the Weber Connect app. Hands-on cooks can also keep tabs on cooking temps with the grill’s built-in LCD controller. The Searwood’s internal RapidReact controller can also heat the grill to temperature in 15 minutes or less and helps the grill quickly regain temperature whenever the lid is opened. It continually monitors and adjusts the temperature while cooking, too.

They are available in three color options.
The Pro-Ject T1 Evo boasts three big upgrades over its predecessor. First, it features an upgraded Ortofon OM10 MM phono cartridge instead of the T1’s Ortofon OM5E MM phono cartridge. (For reference, the OM10 MM on the Evo model goes for $75 on its own, which is $15 upgrade over the T1’s OM5E.) Second, the T1 Evo features a larger sub-platter — it’s the same size sub-platter as the ones in Pro-Ject’s higher-end Debut series — which should help with dampen vibrations, speed control and, ultimately, improve its sound. Finally, the T1 Evo features an electronic speed change, so you don’t have to remove the platter and physically adjust the belt every time you want to switch between 33 RPM and 45 RPM speeds. Instead, you press a side switch.

The rumored and expected late-cycle update to the PS5 is finally out in the open. The new PS5 Pro is aimed at diehard gaming fans who obsess over frame rates. Sony considers the new system “the most visually compelling way to play games on PlayStation.” That’s all made possible thanks to a beefier GPU, which offers 67 more Compute Units than the current PS5, as well as 28% faster memory. Together, these spec bumps make rendering up to 45% faster, at least for games optimized for the new machine and featuring “PS5 Pro Enhanced” labels. Advanced ray tracing support and AI-powered upscaling will also help improve the look of older PS5 and other legacy titles. Strangely, the PS5 Pro doesn’t include a 4k Blu-ray drive like the original PS5, though including a 2TB hard drive and Wi-Fi 7 support are meaningful hardware perks.

Released in 1994, Aeron is the chair that bookended a shift in task seating design from a form-first to function-first industry. Its critical, commercial and cultural successes are many. It ushered out clean lines in favor of shapes contouring to the human body and was the first hugely successful mesh chair. It is among the most customizable designs ever conceived. It’s earned a permanent place in the Museum of Modern Art. It’s even 94 percent recyclable, a feature years ahead of its time. Though the Aeron chair is no longer the seating du jour, in style and function, its importance and power are unrivaled.

Alex Cranz at The Verge called this gadget “the hypercar of E-Ink note-taking devices” for good reason. The 11.8-inch tablet pushes e-ink tech to its limits to create the ultimate digital notebook. The most significant innovation here is a unique color e-ink display combined with some intelligent software tricks that allow the reMarkable Pro to faithfully render books, slide decks, PDFs, and other docs without the downside of a frustratingly slow refresh rate. Like other reMarkable tablets, the textured display replicates a paper-like feel when using a stylus, while a front-facing reading light makes the tablet usable in darker settings. The catch is that the Paper Pro costs as much as more capable devices like Apple’s new 11-inch iPad Air. The well-regarded keyboard accessory makes price an even more significant cause for pause, given it costs $229.
The Sonos Arc Ultra is the company’s flagship Dolby Atmos soundbar. You can choose an always-on solar charging display or an OLED display (the former has a much longer battery life). And it has more features for diving, such as leakproof buttons, a new sensor guard, and a dive rating of up to 40 meters.
