In 1985, Reebok launched the Club C, one of the most iconic tennis shoes of all time. To this day, it remains one of the best white sneakers for summertime.

Now, that same silhouette has finally made its way to the other side of the country club. The Reebok Club C Golf takes that legendary shoe and distills it into something fit for a day on the links.

Over the last couple of years, there’s been a surfeit of classic sneakers that have been turned into golf shoes. As such, Reebok is a little late to the party. That said, this has allowed the brand to sidestep some potential issues.

For instance, the Club C Golf retains its original appearance almost entirely. That includes a full-grain leather upper, which is water-resistant to keep them fresh even in the early morning dew.

The shoe also retains its signature highlights and details, like its subtle stripe around the heel below the collar, done in your choice of green, blue and white for men’s styles, as well as maroon and off-white for women’s styles.

It also maintains the signature logo window on the side in matching colors (save for the all-white version, which has a blue logo).

Really, the only major difference can be found beneath the sole.

A casual back nine

With classic sneakers that have been turned into golf shoes, brands typically take one of two routes. Either they go all-in and make them spiked for more serious players or they embrace the sneakers’ casual nature and go spikeless.

The Club C Golf is thoroughly in the latter category. These aren’t tourney-ready golf shoes; they’re more for fun and spontaneity. Thus, they are affixed with spikeless soles, making them more comfortable and casual overall.

While they lack that competitive edge afforded by spiked shoes, that does mean they have a number of other benefits. For instance, they’re easier to clean and care for.

Furthermore, they are easier to wear and more versatile, meaning you won’t have to go back to the lockers to change out of them if you want to grab a bite and a beer at the clubhouse.
