The Backstory: Ooni is for pizza lovers
To understand how we got to the Koda 2 Max, it’s helpful to first understand Ooni, the brand that literally invented portable pizza ovens.
The brand launched its first oven in 2012, and it hasn’t stopped innovating since. Today, Ooni offers a wide variety of ovens that run on pellets, wood, charcoal, gas and even electricity.
The Koda 2 Max applies Ooni’s decade plus of pizza-making innovation at a new scale, with a supersized cooking area that literally doubles your pizza potential.
The Gist: Double the pizza, double the control
If we have one gripe with portable pizza ovens, its that cooking for groups larger than two to three can be slow-going. The Koda 2 Max’s 24-inch cooking area solves this problem with a playing field that’s large enough to cook one 20-inch pie, two 12-inch pizzas or three 10-inch pizzas simultaneously.
With so much real estate available, Ooni upped its temperature control game with the Koda 2 Max, too, which is capable of reaching cook-your-pizza-in-a-minute temperatures up to 950 degrees Fahrenheit.
The oven features two independent temperature zones, so you can sear a steak next to roasting veggies, and the front-mounted digital temperature hub provides instant oven temperature readings so you know exactly when to launch your pizzas. Finally, you can also receive detailed temperature information straight from the oven to your phone via Ooni Connect™ and the Ooni app.
