The first addition to Ardbeg’s permanent collection in 20 years is an almost-20-year-old peat monster.

Posted up a mile down the street from Lagavulin in Islay, Ardbeg is one of Scotch’s foremost makers of peat bombs. And its latest whisky, a 19-year-old expression aged in American oak barrels and ex-sherry casks, stays the course.

Described by the distillery as possessing a “peaty power that plunges your palate into smoky depths,” the new bottle, dubbed Traigh Bhan, is the first addition to the brand’s permanent collection in 20 years. Ardbeg Traigh Bhan clocks in at the brand’s standard 92 proof and will release annually. Each bottle will also sport a unique code, allowing buyers to learn more about the whisky in their bottle on the brand’s website.

Traigh Bhan is rolling out across the U.S. now with a suggested retail price of $300.
