The Best Breakfast in Wyoming

This food is not for the feeble-hearted (or pre-diabetic, for that matter).

10:01 a.m. MT | Cheyenne, Wyoming – Don’t mess with the cinnamon rolls. Don’t even think that you and two hungry, slightly hung-over, sleep-deprived journalists can handle a cinnamon roll. The cinnamon roll is bigger than a human stomach. It’s lathered with more frosting than a wedding cake. And it’s brought out as an appetizer before the meal. This is Wild West-sized food. This is cowboy fare for people with big stomachs and bold hearts. At the Luxury Diner, on the southwest side of Cheyenne, post-parade, pre-Frontier Days, we took on the behemoth breakfast that the L.D. serves up — chased the nibbles of cinnamon roll with breakfast burritos and huevos rancheros. At this diner, calorie counters are banished. Only the brave, reckless, and hungry are allowed to sit and feast.
