Adidas Just Overhauled Its Flaghip Ultraboost Running Shoe

How do you boost the boost? By adding more boost, of course.

Since 2015, the Ultraboost has achieved the rare feat of building fandoms for Adidas among runners and sneaker fans alike

Now, with nearly a decade under its belt, the German footwear giant has taken the opportunity to introduce what it states is “the biggest redesign of the franchise” since its inception for the newly unveiled Ultraboost 5

The formula here seems tried and true. By adding more cushy foam that made the sneaker comfortable and springy from the start, Adidas has reduced the shoe’s weight while increasing energy return by 2% more than the Ultraboost Light 1 introduced in the Spring of 2023.

Specifically, the Ultraboost 5 features a new midsole packed with 9mm of additional, re-engineered light boost foam. A new upper, made of Primeknit, is also designed to mold and adapt better to wearers for improved fit and breathability.

The initial color offering is primarily white and grey with ‘Spark Orange’ and ‘Lucid Pink’ accents, but you can expect a wide range of color options to follow in the coming months.

The shoe is now on sale for Adiclub members; anyone can join for free by signing up. It’ll go on sale to the general public on July 18th, both online and in stores, for $180.
