Roka makes some of the best sports sunglasses in the game, and now the brand launches everyday glasses we can’t wait to wear.

Since 2011, Roka has been a leader in the world of triathlon gear. Runners, cyclist and swimmers know the value of top-notch equipment that works with you to achieve your goals. Every year, Roka seems to push out another piece of perfected equipment: gym bags, wetsuits, sunglasses and most recently, prescription eyewear. As someone who loves the brand’s sunglasses (specifically the Phantom TI) for running and cycling, I’m excited to try the everyday eyewear.

I’m someone who didn’t get glasses until I was in my mid-20s, so I love wearing them. The grass is always greener effect played a role here. I always thought people with glasses looked cool, and I religiously visited an eye doctor to ask if I needed them. Staring at a computer screen and iPhone for years will likely mess with your vision (couldn’t have seen that one coming), and I finally was approved to wear glasses.

I love everything about my glasses — the shape, size, weight and look, but I don’t like that they slide off my face. Watching a movie or driving is more comfortable with my glasses on, but I’m always pushing the nose piece back in place, so I’m not lifting my chin to see through my glasses. While I have yet to test the new Austin collection, I have high hopes for them. Roka already perfected sports sunglasses with lightweight frames and geko-technology (sticky pads along the temples and nose piece), so I expect the Austin collection to follow suit.
