Definitive Technology’s W Studio Micro is a terrific soundbar-and-subwoofer combo. It works with virtually any TV out there. It sounds great, featuring three 1-inch aluminum dome tweeters and four 1- by 3-inch mid-range drivers. And its wireless subwoofer adds the extra bass you’d want while watching a Christopher McQuarrie flick. All told, you’re getting the kind of sound you’d expect from high-end speakers in a package that’s compact enough to virtually disappear beneath your TV.
Usually sold for $899, the W Studio Micro is currently backordered on Definitive Technology’s website, but you can find the 3.1 system on Amazon for just $499. If you’re in the market for a great home theater system, this one is on the cheap.
