Save $28: Inspired by Tokyo’s Gyakusou International Running Association, Undercover founder and designer Jun Takahashi has been collaborating with Nike since 2010 to produce impressive collections of forward-thinking, functional running gear and high-end streetwear.

In a time when Nike sells its Epic React Flyknit 2 sneaker for $150 and the Pegasus 35 Turbo running shoe for $180, paying $190 for these special Takahashi-designed Gyakusou sneakers doesn’t seem too wild. Fluance RT81 Turntable
Save $40: This is one of our favorite entry-level turntables and it’s currently on sale on Amazon. The RT81 has a built-in preamp so, to play your own records, you just need to add passive bookshelf speakers. (Cool feature: This preamp can be turned off, too, in case you want to add separate components and build out your system later on down the road.) It’s also one of the best-looking turntables out there (in my opinion). If you’re just getting into vinyl and you’re looking for a solid turntable, the RT81 is a great one to consider.

Save $10: Brandt Cox is a former professional chef and cofounder of New Orleans’ Coutelier NOLA knife shop. When we asked him to name the best bang-for-your-buck Japanese chef’s knife, he didn’t hesitate. “[The Tojiro DP Series] is one of the best price-to-performance value knives we’ve tested or stocked,” he said.

The blade Brandt described as a “gateway drug” into Japanese knives, is on sale today — shoppers can save a modest $10 on the 8.2-inch Tojiro DP Gyutou. The DP series Gyutou is made with hardwearing, wear-resistant VG10 knife steel and the classically thin bevels of a Japanese kitchen knife, but it also sports a western ergonomic-focused handle most Japanese knife newbs are familiar with. Patagonia Lightweight Black Hole Backpack
Save 40%: Of the well-loved products that Patagonia has created over the years — from ultralight synthetic insulation jackets to iconic fleeces — the Black Hole duffel is one that has weathered the years. The utilitarian gear hauler is made rugged enough to handle the rigors of weeks-long field expeditions yet practical enough that its features aren’t lost on casual travelers. (The 60-liter version is perfect for carry-on-only trips.)
The Black Hole duffel succeeds because its design is so simple — it has an accessible D-shaped opening, mesh pockets for a small amount of internal organization, removable backpack straps — and its laminated ripstop construction is both durable and weather-resistant. Patagonia hasn’t altered the bag much beyond changing the buckles and tweaking the material recipe to include more recycled content, but it did recently introduce a lightweight version of the bag that’s even more travel-friendly, but no less rugged. It’s precisely these qualities that make the 26-liter Lightweight Black Hole backpack excellent too. The pack uses the same hardwearing TPU-laminated ripstop fabric in an everyday bag that’s well suited to commuting and shorter adventures.
Similar to the duffel, the Black Hole Pack uses a wide opening to access its main compartment, which has a sleeve for a laptop or a hydration reservoir as well as smaller pockets for essential items. Unhindered by other unnecessary features, the bag is left to do what it should: provide ample space for whatever it is you might need to carry.
