Seiko-5-Automatic-Gear-Patrol-lead-full

Seiko 5 SNK795
Save 59%: Seiko 5s are mechanical, they’re affordable, they’re plentiful, they’re (often) colorful and they’re fun. Oh, and they’re inexpensive. Did we mention that they’re inexpensive? The SNK795 encompasses most of these traits: it’s got a 37mm stainless steel case with matching steel bracelet and exhibition case back; an automatic movement with day-date display; a matte black dial with silver baton hands and matching indices, and best of all, it’s only $79, a nearly 60% savings off the list price of $195. — Oren Hartov

Faherty-Overshirts-gear-patrol-lead-full

Faherty Overshirts
Save 50%:When planning a wardrobe around shoulder-season weather, focusing on layering. And, on days where a light jacket is too heavy, reach for an overshirt instead. It’ll keep you warm through brisk mornings and chilly evenings, but won’t be too much during a sunny afternoon.

Philips-Sonicare-Diamond-Clean-gear-patrol-full-lead

Philips Sonicare Electric Toothbrush
Save $100 Last year, I bought a toothbrush for $100. It was the best $100 I spent all year.

The Philips Sonicare Diamond Clean is a weighty, loud brush that uses vibration and water movement to shake plaque and other gross substances off your teeth and gums. The electric brush operates in five modes which act as different power levels — clean, white, sensitive, gum care and deep clean — and charges via conduction in a small glass cup that comes with it.

Today on Amazon, the $200 Diamond Clean is $100 — matching its lowest ever from Prime Day last summer. It’s worth every penny. —Will Price

Anova-Culinary-Sous-Vide-Precision-Cooker-gear-patrol-full-lead

Anova Culinary Precision Cooker
Save $30 The sous vide tool is not deserving of its present condition. Confined for most of its life to high-end restaurants, the sous vide circulator is sometimes labeled as a tool with too few uses to justify the price. This isn’t really true.
For one, great, easy-to-use sous vide circulators exist — just look at Anova Culinary’s sous vide tool tool, a circulator with a robust and intuitive cooking app. But there’s also the matter of what the everyday, utility-first home cook can get out of it. Here are three ways to use them every day. —Will Price

Adios-3-Black-Deal-Gear-Patrol-lead-full

Adidas Adizero 3 Sale

Today, it’s on sale for up to 50 percent off. The neutral runner has Adidas’s popular Boost technology in the midsole to help lower the road impact and keep your energy levels high for all those miles. It’s a lightweight sneaker built for fast race days — and all the runs that lead up to that.

Typically, the Adizero Adios 3 shoes are $140, but the all-black version is 50 percent off and down to $70. There are very limited sizes, but the white version is also 25 percent off and down to $105.

Vizion-65-Inch-Tv-Gear-Patrol-lead-full

Vizio P-Series 65” 4K UHD TV with HDR
Save $200 Since a lot of tech brands have recently launched their latest and greatest models in time for CES, great TVs from the last year or two are being discounted. And because 2017 and 2018 models still have so much to offer, that’s a very good thing for anyone currently looking to buy. In this case it means you can take $200 off one of the best models in Vizio’s well-reviewed line of TVs.

Even better, all Vizio SmartCast TVs are primed to receive software updates later in 2019, updates that will include support for AirPlay 2 and HomeKit. And right now you can catch some serious savings on a TV that does everything most people would ever ask for. — Andy Frakes

Spyderco-Folding-Knife-Gear-Patrol-lead-full

Spyderco Efficient Pocket Knife
Save 35%: Spyderco knives are easily recognized, even for EDC initiates. It’s that circular hole in the blade that takes the place of a thumb stud or nail nick — a solution that the company’s founder, Sal Glesser, created while searching for a new one-handed opening method back in the early 1980s. It’s been modified and imitated by plenty of other makers because it’s simple, and it works. Every Spyderco blade features the cutout, including the new all-black version of the Efficient, which you can already purchase with a 35 percent discount at Massdrop.

Spyderco built the Efficient to be an everyday pocket knife. Its drop-point blade is just shy of three inches long and is available with a plain or partially serrated edge. The handle scales are textured G10 fiberglass, and the mechanism locks open with a stainless steel liner lock. None of these features are brand new — they were present in the original release of the Efficient — but now they’re all finished with a matte black oxide coating, which gives the knife a look that’s both sleek and modern. — Tanner Bowden

Timex-Todd-Snyder-Gear-Patrol-lead-fullTodd Snyder

Timex X Todd Snyder Blackjack Watch
Save 30%: Todd Snyder’s access to the Timex archives has resulted in all sorts of cool collaborations over the past few years, but the updated versions of the once-obscure “Sprite” models from the 1970s have proven so be some of our favorites. This is a sleek, automotive-inspired timepiece with cool “roulette wheel” dial done up in black and white, a black-finished case, 50m of water resistance, a quartz movement and a black Nato strap. The watch generally retails for only $138, but right now, you can nab it for just $99. — Oren Hartov

Taylor-Stitch-Winslow-Parka-Navy-Deal-gear-patrol-lead-full

Taylor Stitch Winslow Parka
Save 35%:Halley Stevensons knows a thing or two about waxed canvas fabric. The UK-based brand has been manufacturing textiles since 1864 and was awarded a patent in 1910 for “cleaning and water-proofing textiles.” Along with holding the domain name waxedcotton.com, it continues to produce some of the best breathable weather-resistant fabrics on the market. So when San Francisco clothing brand Taylor Stitch decided to make a waxed canvas jacket, it’s no surprise they went to Halley Stevensons for the fabric.

Made in the UK, this jacket normally costs $298, but is available for $199 on sale while supplies. Considering the versatile design and quality materials, that’s a steal for jacket that will stand up to whatever spring weather comes your way. — John Zientek

Spring-Grill-Sale-gear-patrol-full-lead

A Pair of Entry-Level Gas Grills
Save Up To $179 It is mid-March and, for many of us, the temperature has officially risen to levels that don’t induce pain upon exiting a building. What does this mean? Fewer parkas, fewer gloves and more grills.

Today, a pair of trusty, entry-level gas grills are on sale — Weber’s Spirit II grill and the more affordable Char-Broil four-burner. The former comes with raves from websites with names like Amazing Ribs and Smoked BBQ Source, citing its heavy construction, enameled cast-iron grates and a whopping 10-year warranty. The Char-Broil grill also sports enameled iron grates, is slightly bigger and significantly more affordable. —Will Price

Design-Within-Reach-Sale-lead-full

Salomon-Sense-Ride-Trail-Running-Shoe-gear-patrol-lead-full

Salomon Sense Ride Trail Running Shoe
Save 30%: When I first laced my feet into Salomon’s Sense Ride trail running shoe, it was in the French Alps, the day before I was to run roughly 10 miles along the ridge opposite Mont Blanc, the tallest mountain in the range. Despite never having run that far in my life at the time, the day was a success, and while that might’ve been due to the postcard or the pre-run cheese and pastries, it was undoubtedly due to the shoes.

Right now, the Sense Ride is also 30 percent off at Backcountry, with a price that’s down from $120 to $84. If you aren’t looking for a discount though, Salomon recently revealed the Sense Ride 2, which builds on its predecessor with a more flexible and comfortable upper. — Tanner Bowden

0119lodgecastirongearpatrollead2Chandler Bondurant

Lodge 12-Inch Cast-Iron Skillet
Save $15 Good news: today, the 12-inch skillet is marked down somewhere other than Amazon — get it for just $15 at Sierra Trading Post.
Its 10 inches of cooking space (the 12-inch designation refers to a wall-to-wall measurement, which includes the slope of the walls) is the ideal size for most people’s stovetop burners — any bigger and heat distribution issues will be exacerbated, any smaller and you can’t cook a whole lot. Plus, unlike Lodge’s behemoth 13- and 15-inch pans, the 12-inch will actually fit in a kitchen cabinet. As with all Lodge pans, the 12-inch comes pre-seasoned and ready to cook out of the box (we recommend starting with bacon). —Will Price

Mystery-Ranch-Urban-Assault-Massdrop-Gear-Patrol-lead-full

Mystery Ranch Urban Assault Backpack
Save 28%: In 1985 the founder of Mystery Ranch, Dana Gleason, invented a revolutionary internal frame design called ArcFlex that permanently changed how pack makers think about load bearing. But Gleason and co-founder Renee Sippel-Baker hit their stride when Navy SEALs approached them in search of custom packs. Now they craft bags for the military, backcountry firefighters and the US Forest Service, but they haven’t forgotten the everyday outdoorsman.

The Urban Assault pack, which is currently 28 percent off at Massdrop in lots of colors, utilizes the same technical design features that make Mystery Ranch bags suitable for the most rigorous users but it includes features that make it ideal for the urban inhabitant. It’s made with 500-denier Cordura nylon and has a unique three-zipper opening system, two internal accessory pockets, a laptop sleeve and a quick-access lid pouch. It also employs a fixed-harness frame system, which allows the commuter-friendly pack to perform like a high-end expedition backpack. — Tanner Bowden

Suunto-Core-All-Black-Gear-Patrol-lead-feature

Suunto Core Military Smartwatch
Save 41%: I do not have any plans to go on a backpacking or camping trip anytime soon, but if I did, I think I’d spring for this Suunto Core watch. And that’s not just because it is marked down by 41% (although that helps).

Other than just looking cool with its all-black case, strap and face, the watch features a handful of genuinely useful features. An altimeter tracks how many feet you climb on any given hike while a compass helps guide you along your path. Just useful as those features are the barometer, weather trend graph and storm alarm system. The trio works together to read the atmosphere, predict changing conditions and let you know in advance if things are going to get hairy. Oh yeah, and it tells time. These are all things I would’ve liked to have had on my last camping trip.

Dezcal-Coffee-Cleaner-Gear-Patrol-lead-full

Urnex Descaling Coffee Machine Cleaner
Save 33%: Professional baristas and cafés think of only one name when it comes to coffee machine cleaning: Urnex.

“I’ve used [Urnex’s] food-safe cleaners in every shop I’ve ever worked in,” Erika Vonie, Director of Coffee at Trade, said. “They don’t leave a residue or impart flavor when used correctly and leave your equipment factory-clean when all is said and done.”

Today, a four-pack of those cleaners is all of $6 — down a few bucks from its usual $9. If you don’t think you need to clean your coffee machine all that often, you’re lying to yourself. Read more here. —Will Price

Apple-Watch-Deal-Gear-Patrol-lead-full

Apple Watch Series 3 Sale
Save 21%: If you’ve been debating picking up an Apple watch, now’s a great time to shop the previous model for 21 percent off. The Apple Watch Series 3 with GPS and Cellular is down from $379 to $299. There are rarely sales on Apple products like this. A 38-mm face is a natural entry point size-wise for a smartwatch, or you can size up to the 42-mm for $329. If you’re already in the Apple universe (with an iPhone and laptop or iPad), getting used to the interface is a breeze. Apple launched the Series 4 in the fall of 2018, but the Series 3 has many of the same great features and is still the smartwatch to buy.

Whether you’re looking for a GPS running watch or something that tracks your steps, calories and exercise minutes, the Apple Watch Series 3 is for you. I’ve had an Apple watch since 2015 and am a bit obsessed. Putting my watch on is the first thing I do every morning, and I enjoy that the watch nudges me (buzzes on my wrist) every hour to stand up, encourages me to get moving at night if I neglected to work out in the morning and logs every step of my commute in addition to tracking my meditation minutes. Yes, you do have to charge it every night, so sleep tracking is not possible, but as a runner I appreciate that I can check my miles at the end of every day. — Meg Lappe

Larmor-knife-Gear-Patrol-lead-full

Au Sabot L’Amor Pocket Knife
Save 25%: There’s a reason why knife blades come in various shapes, with intended use primary among them. Take Au Sabot’s L’Armor, a folding pocket knife with a somewhat blunted tip, for example. That shape is called a Sheepsfoot, not only because it resembles, in a way, an ovine hoof, but also because it’s a shape that has historically been used for farm work.

Au Sabot’s L’Armor still has that function at its heart, but it adds an appropriate amount of flair too. The four-inch blade is made of Sandvik 12C27 stainless steel, a well-rounded Swedish steel known for its hardness and toughness (it’s often used to make ice skate blades) and is available with handles made of palo santo, olive or horn. All three are currently available at Huckberry for 25 percent off.— Tanner Bowden

It also links with your phone to access Google Now or Siri.

In addition to a longer battery life (16 hours rather than 12), it’s a slightly larger and more powerful version of the regular SoundLink Revolve. For bigger rooms, bigger parties and bigger sound, the Revolve+ makes a great go-to. — Andy Frakes

Raf-Simons-Shirts-Gear-Patrol-lead-full

Calvin Klein 205W38NYC Denim Shirts by Raf Simons
Save 50%: In August 2016, legendary Belgian designer Raf Simons was appointed as Chief Creative Officer of Calvin Klein. Simons oversaw creative strategy over all aspects of design, marketing and communications for the brand and infused his distinct design language into the brand’s luxury 205W39NYC collection. His first collection with the brand debuted for the Fall2017 season, but by December 2018, Simons and Calvin Klein parted ways (nine months before his contract would have expired).

Simons-designed menswear pieces are already very collectible on the secondhand market. Garments from his eponymous brand and tenure at Dior sell for premium prices on sites like Grailed. So if you’re looking to invest in something from Simons’s time at Calvin Klein, now would be a good time.

Case in point: today at Nordstrom, you can save 50 percent on two denim shirts from the Raf Simons-designed Calvin Klein 205W39NYC collection. Simons short tenure at the brand makes these wardrobe staples instant collector’s items. They’re still expensive, but they’ll hold their value over time — hard to say that about many other pieces of clothing. — John Zientek
