Spyderco Efficient Pocket Knife
Save 35%: Spyderco knives are easily recognized, even for EDC initiates. It’s that circular hole in the blade that takes the place of a thumb stud or nail nick — a solution that the company’s founder, Sal Glesser, created while searching for a new one-handed opening method back in the early 1980s. It’s been modified and imitated by plenty of other makers because it’s simple, and it works. Save 41%: I do not have any plans to go on a backpacking or camping trip anytime soon, but if I did, I think I’d spring for this Suunto Core watch. And that’s not just because it is marked down by 41% (although that helps).

Other than just looking cool with its all-black case, strap and face, the watch features a handful of genuinely useful features. An altimeter tracks how many feet you climb on any given hike while a compass helps guide you along your path. Just useful as those features are the barometer, weather trend graph and storm alarm system. The trio works together to read the atmosphere, predict changing conditions and let you know in advance if things are going to get hairy. Oh yeah, and it tells time. These are all things I would’ve liked to have had on my last camping trip.

I’ve had an Apple watch since 2015 and am a bit obsessed. Putting my watch on is the first thing I do every morning, and I enjoy that the watch nudges me (buzzes on my wrist) every hour to stand up, encourages me to get moving at night if I neglected to work out in the morning and logs every step of my commute in addition to tracking my meditation minutes. Yes, you do have to charge it every night, so sleep tracking is not possible, but as a runner I appreciate that I can check my miles at the end of every day. — Meg Lappe

Au Sabot L’Amor Pocket Knife
Save 25%: There’s a reason why knife blades come in various shapes, with intended use primary among them. Take Au Sabot’s L’Armor, a folding pocket knife with a somewhat blunted tip, for example. Calvin Klein 205W38NYC Denim Shirts by Raf Simons
Save 50%: In August 2016, legendary Belgian designer Raf Simons was appointed as Chief Creative Officer of Calvin Klein. Simons oversaw creative strategy over all aspects of design, marketing and communications for the brand and infused his distinct design language into the brand’s luxury 205W39NYC collection. His first collection with the brand debuted for the Fall2017 season, but by December 2018, Simons and Calvin Klein parted ways (nine months before his contract would have expired).

Simons-designed menswear pieces are already very collectible on the secondhand market. Garments from his eponymous brand and tenure at Dior sell for premium prices on sites like Grailed. So if you’re looking to invest in something from Simons’s time at Calvin Klein, now would be a good time.
