Blackyak Modicana Jacket
Save $114: When we first saw Blackyak’s Modicana jacket, we were impressed. The coat is part of the South Korea-based apparel brand’s Midshell collection, which combines properties from mid-layers with those of outer layers to produce versatile pieces that can be worn as either. Blackyak exhibits this idea in the Modicana with a soft, stretchy shell that’s also waterproof yet impressively breathable. The interior is lined with merino wool for warmth and wicking; the cuffs, hem and hood include a form-fitting sticky elastic that promotes movement.

All of these details — it’s clear just by looking at it how much the designers thought about its construction — make the Modicana the type of jacket that can be worn as functionally with other pieces as it can go it alone. Right now, as part of Backcountry’s winter clearance sale, it’s 30 percent off, which amounts to a savings of over $100. The great thing is that while the Modicana is an excellent jacket for winter, it isn’t strictly a winter jacket. — Tanner Bowden

Target Threshold Percale Sheets
Save Up to 25% When you think of buying cheap, you think of tradeoffs — what am I willing to put up with in the name of saving some cash? Target’s Threshold-branded percale sheets are very cheap and make you forget tradeoffs altogether.

Marked down up to 25 percent, these sets don’t show the obvious tells of other cheap sheets — poor stitching, chemical smells, lack of crispness and so on. They’re airy and crisp out of the box. They also don’t flub thread count numbers like many other options in this category, a problem that’s stemmed from the belief that larger thread count numbers equal more comfort. “The [thread count] numbers are often lies to begin with. A higher thread count doesn’t equate to better quality. Stay within the 200- to 300-range and you’ll be good,” co-founder of Authenticity 50, Jimmy McDonald said.

Dyson V7 & V8 Vacuums
Save Up To $150: Today at Amazon, you can find two great Dyson vacuums for some of the lowest prices we’ve seen — and they’re not refurbished, they’re brand-spanking-new.

The smaller of the pair, the V7, boasts a max suction power of 100 air watts (Dyson claims it’s the strongest of any handheld vacs) and can run for up to 30 minutes on a single charge. The V7 also comes with a special motorized head attachment for pet hair and loose debris, and the suction hose attachment will help you reach narrow spaces.

As for the larger vacuum, the V8 Absolute Cordless, you’re getting a more powerful (115 air watts) and longer-running (40 minutes) cordless machine. This model was made to deep-clean carpets and with the included motorized cleaning head, you get eight straight minutes of serious carpet-cleaning action. Yes, there are plenty of great corded vacuums out there, and yes, many of them cost less than the V8. But Dyson has a hardcore following, and this machine is part of the reason why. — Andy Frakes

Save $95: When arranged thoughtfully and outfitted appropriately, a home gym can be an entirely capable alternative to a pricey gym membership. It doesn’t have to call for heavy and bulky (not to mention expensive) equipment, either. TRX’s original suspension trainer was created with this type of functional minimalism in mind — it was invented by a Navy SEAL squadron commander named Randy Hetrick who was searching for a way to stay fit during deployment.

Bulova Lunar Chronograph Moon Watch
Save 54%: While the Omega Speedmaster is considered the preeminent moon watch, there have been many timepieces that have ventured into space, including a Bulova chronograph worn by Commander David Scott on the Apollo 15 mission in 1971. Yamazaki Organization Gear
Save 15%: Japan’s lesser-known Yamazaki is far less expensive and far more, well, useful than the world-famous whisky. In operation for more than 100 years, Yamazaki beat Marie Kondo to the tidying up punch by a century. The company’s housewares are all unobtrusive, sturdy, simple and bent toward organizing your place. They’re also incredibly affordable.

Its nifty rolling storage cart ($85) is slim and made of steel and real wood — not particle board and plastic screws. Its all-steel wall hanger ($69) is heavy enough to stay put when you hang a dozen coats over it. They even made a trashcan ($43) that does its job and doesn’t look goofy.

Sonos Connect:Amp
Save $100+: Last fall, Sonos introduced its new Amp, which is an all-around better version of the Connect:Amp. The new Amp is twice as powerful and has an HDMI ARC port, so you can also hook it directly to your TV and play your TV’s audio throughout your house. The new Sonos Amp just went on sale in early 2019. Sonos still sells the Connect:Amp for $499, and for anybody who doesn’t need to power really expensive speakers or hook up their speakers to their TV (the Amp essentially works as an AV receiver), it’s probably still the better option; it’s most definitely cheaper. Amazon was selling the Connect:Amp for the lowest its ever been – $384 – but it appears that that deal is dead. You can still find discounted Connect:Amp models on eBay and B&H for around $370, although they are refurbished.

Nike 20% Off Sale
Save 20%: Three of Nike’s best-selling running shoes of 2018 are currently on sale for an even deeper discount. Enter code SAVE20 at checkout to get an additional 20 percent off all sale styles, meaning there are a ton of gym and running shoes available, all under $100. We picked out a few of our favorites below — all of which we heavily tested last year, as well as awarded in our Best New Running Shoes of 2018 and GP100. LG just dropped the price of the UK6300 by several hundred dollars; on its website, LG is selling 55-inch models for $499, which is $200 off the original MSRP. You can pick up the same TV for a little bit less on either eBay or Amazon, too.

Weight Rack and Weights Sale
Save $300: Right now, Weider weight rack and five sets of dumbbells are $300 off. While weight racks and dumbbells are typically pricey, having more than one pair is imperative for your home gym. If you’re looking to hit your goals this year, this deal is too good to pass up. Save 25%: A pair of handmade hiking boots can cost as much as $750, but right now there’s a pair made by a small Italian brand called Naglev available for $173, which is 25 percent off its regular price of $230. Before you discount that as small change, know that the shoe, called the Unico Hiker, is unlike any other hiking shoe available (it’s also on our list of the best hiking boots available).

Naglev is based in the Alps, where outdoor footwear was invented, and it created the Unico to function as a middle ground between a hiking boot and a trail running sneaker. It calls to mind approach shoes (sturdy, low-cut hiking shoes typically used by rock climbers who face long treks through technical terrain on the way to a climb) but it’s built much differently. The upper is made of one single piece of Kevlar fabric — yes, the same stuff used to make body armor — and its inside is lined with a with a sock-like wool liner. This construction creates a remarkably durable shoe that’s unexpectedly comfortable, and entirely unique. — Tanner Bowden

Save 46%: It’s no surprise that Red Wing boots are an American classic. Since 1872, the brand has made no-nonsense footwear, designed to stand up to years of hard use. The Minnesota-based maker utilizes leather from the S.B. Foot Tanning Company, also located in the city of Red Wing, and produces nearly 1 million pairs of boots every year from its large mid-century factory.

If you’ve been waiting for a sale to purchase your own pair of Red Wing boots, head over to Nordstrom Rack. Currently, you can save 46 percent on a pair of rugged suede lace-up boots. Lucchese Jonah Boots
Save 37%:Founded in San Antonio in 1883, Lucchese offers some of the best Western boots of the market. Along with its more traditional styles, it offers some modern silhouettes that are appropriate for a range of settings. For example, its Jonah boot blends the heel and toe of a traditional roper with a narrow side-zip shaft. The Lucchese site says it’s equestrian-inspired, but apart from the zipper and slim profile, the style doesn’t scream horseman. It’s a slim boot that pairs well with modern pants, a style both versatile and rooted in tradition.

Handmade in Texas, the boot features a black suede upper, a 7-inch shaft with a Riri zipper and a leather outsole. If you’re looking to pick up a pair, head over to Zappos where the style is currently 37 percent off. Though pricey at $500, it’s a versatile, well-made boot that will serve you for years to come. — John Zientek

Save $195: Tentmakers employ their most advanced manufacturing processes and innovative materials to make shelters as packable and lightweight as possible. Backpackers are the primary demographic in mind here, but more casual adventurers — the type who head out for one or two nights rather than seven, or regularly make camp next to their car — form a more substantial proportion of those enjoying wilderness. Nemo’s Losi tent is for these folks, and right now it’s 40 percent off (a savings of $195) at Mountain Steals.

The Losi isn’t like the big-enough-to-stand-up-in tents you can find at Walmart, but neither is it an ounce-counting ultralight trekker’s dream shelter. Instead, it’s somewhere in the middle; small and light enough to carry in a backpack when weight isn’t paramount yet roomy enough — thanks to a unique pole configuration — to enjoy hanging out in. Sony SRS-XB41 Portable Bluetooth Speaker
$170: The SRS-XB41 is the largest Bluetooth speaker in Sony’s Extra Bass line, comparable in size and sound quality to the Bose SoundLink Revolve Plus ($239) or an Ultimate Ears Boom 3 ($150). It normally sells for $250 — which is what Best Buy is selling it for right now – but you can currently buy a SRS-XB41 on eBay for just $80. Granted, the models that eBay is selling are manufacturer refurbished, but this still feels like a pretty phenomenal deal.

Bose Home Theater Systems
Save Up to $150: Bose released two new soundbars, Soundbar 500 and the Soundbar 700, at the tail end of 2018. You can buy the Bose Soundbar 500 for $550 or the Bose Soundbar 700 for $800. But if you want to build a home theater system around either of these soundbars, say you want to add a bass module and/or surround speakers, you can – and you can get a pretty good deal while doing so.
