Mid-Century Modern Furniture
Save 15%: Design Within Reach is essentially a museum for the furniture that all other furniture rips off. This is to say the products it purveys are items you’re likely familiar with in shape (like the Tolix chair’s ubiquity in faux-industrial restaurants), but less so in regards to origin. What this means is the furniture and lighting options are original and premium and demand prices as such.

Houseplants
Save Up to 30%: Costa Farms is the largest seller of houseplants in the US by a country mile. Today, almost 20 of its simplest, best-selling houseplants are on sale up to 30 percent off on Amazon of all places.

The lot includes all the hardy, beginner houseplants for those new to the game that is keeping another thing alive. Jade plants ($15), which are virtually immortal, do just fine in indirect light and with very little water (if the leaves start to turn red, move it further from direct light). Snake plants ($17), also unwilling to die despite your best efforts, require watering only when the soil is bone dry and don’t care much for sunlight (but generally aren’t hindered by it). Air plants ($15) don’t even need soil to live (just soak in water once a week).

On top of showing your friends and family you have your life somewhat together, plants in the home act as air recycling and purification centers (according to an old NASA report on the matter, Snake plants are pretty great in this regard).

Save 50%: The beauty of an insulated down jacket is that it’s incredibly warm, yet stuffs up into a pocket and weighs practically nothing. This past week, our Outdoors and Fitness team hiked near Lake Placid in the Adirondacks in New York, and we were reminded of just how cozy a down jacket is. One of our team members wore his down jacket all week long, while I found it extremely beneficial to hike with since the weather was misty and dreary. Laguiole Steak Knives

Finex Cast-Iron Skillets
Save 25%Love them or despise them, Finex’s cast-iron cookware inspires a certain level of devotee that few other cookware items can claim. Its octagonal shape, golden lid pull, machine-smoothed cooking surface and stainless steel coil handle (which I’m not completely sold on) are instantly recognizable, and a large part of the pan’s allure. American Trench Ventile Jackets
Save 25%: We usually tend to avoid cotton in looking for a piece of outerwear; “cotton is rotten,” the old hiker’s mantra goes.
