Save 25%: The best trips often involve the unexpected, the spur-of-the-moment and the potentially-hazardous, and for that, a durable travel bag is required. Rolling luggage is hassle-free but transforms into unmanageable should a wheel go out. The duffel, however, is usually a safe bet.

The North Face has over 50 years of experience hauling gear to the world’s far-flung locales, so it’s no wonder that its Base Camp Duffel was not only one of the original laminated expedition bags, but also one of the few that has stood the test of time too. Cole Haan Grand Explorer Waterproof Hiking Boot
Save 57%: When the Cole Haan innovation team set out to create a hiking boot, they first consulted professional alpine climber Freddie Wilkinson. The most important aspect of a boot, according to the respected mountaineer, is that it’s waterproof. Also essential is comfort, as blisters can be more than just an annoyance when making first ascents across the world.

Based in New Hampshire, Cole Haan’s innovation team set-out to produce a great casual hiker that would work in all conditions. The style, dubbed the Grand Explorer, features a one-piece upper crafted from Charles F. Stead waterproof suede that is seam sealed for added protection. For comfort, the boot has a custom felted quilted lining, a flexible sole and a cork midsole that will mold to the wearer’s foot.

Normally $350, the Grand Explorer is now 57 percent off at Nordstrom Rack and costs just $150. If you’re in need of a new boot that is both functional and good-looking, this is seriously worth considering. — John Zientek

Adidas Sneakers
Save up to 85%: Adidas’s dominance in the athletic-adjacent sneaker market is known. By way of the UltraBoost lines and its many derivatives, the German sportswear titan has wrestled away firm control of good-looking, comfy sneakers. Most of the premium lines and models start around $120 and work their way toward $200, but right now Barney’s Warehouse has a solid selection at 50 percent off of the sale price. That means pairs like the $240 UltraBoost All-Terrains can be had for as low as $85.

Save $245: The LG 34UM88C-P doesn’t have the same level of resolution as the LG UltraFine 4K monitor, but it’s more of a productivity beast. It’s huge with a split-screen mode that makes multitasking really easy. It also has a number of HDMI, USB 3.0 and Thunderbolt 2.0 ports so you can connect and charge pretty much all of your devices. It’s decent for playing games, too, although its 60Hz refresh rate won’t be good enough for serious gamers. On LG’s website, the LG 34UM88C-P monitor goes for $700, but you can find it on Amazon for $547. However, if you’re looking for an even better deal, hope on over to eBay — it’s going for as low as $455. It’s a manufacturer refurbished model, granted, but it’s still a great deal. Hario Skerton Coffee Grinder
Save $25: Hario’s Skerton ceramic conical burr grinder has every tiny detail you need in a grinder, but what’s most important is it uses burrs instead of blades, which creates a more even, consistent grind (inconsistent grinds lead to an inconsistent coffee extraction, which creates overly bitterly coffee). Blade grinders work by chopping the beans up, where burr grinders slowly chew them (like a cold-press juicer). Burr grinders also allow for simple adjustments in grind size to experiment with flavor profiles or for different coffee prep styles (espresso included). It’s also small enough to fit just about anywhere and doesn’t generate heat like some electric grinders will (some believe this heat to be detrimental to coffee flavor). Operating is as simple as loading in beans, adjusting grind size and turning in a circle for a few minutes.

Save $350: You can find these LG UltraFine 4K Displays on Apple’s website for $700 each. That ain’t cheap. But today — and today only — Amazon is offering these 21.5-inch monitors for just $350. That’s a fraction of what you’d normally pay. It’s worth mentioning that Amazon is selling displays that have been manufacturer refurbished, so they aren’t brand new.
