Save $59: You can’t buy the 2017 iPad anymore from Apple because the new model has taken its place. However, if you don’t care about using the Apple Pencil — and a lot of people don’t — because you just want a cheap iPad to answer emails and watch Netflix, you can get a brand new 2017 iPad for $270 on eBay. Essentially, you’re saving $60, or $160 when you factor in the price of the Apple Pencil, for a brand new (if slightly dated) iPad.

Dyson Pure Cool Link Air Purifier
Save $220: The Dyson Pure Cool Link is a high-quality air purifier that we reviewed back in 2016. It’s wi-fi controlled and now works with Alexa, so you can control it with your voice if you have an Echo speaker. It doubles as a cooling fan, as well. But really, you want this thing because it’s basically a vacuum of the sky, sucking up pollen, dust, mold spores and pet dander. Normally $500, Amazon is offering the Dyson Pure Cool Link for as low as $280 today.

Save 25%: What are rain paints? The answer is simple: rain pants are the same as a rain jacket, but for the lower half of your body. Why you need them is a more difficult question to answer. Rain pants are arguably less versatile than an upper body shell; they aren’t the type of garment you’d throw on before heading to your office on a rainy morning — unlike other technical apparel, rain pants are not as socially-accepted beyond the outdoor realm.

But rain pants are useful, especially so if you’re an avid hiker or backpacker. Too often rain is an excuse to bail on a planned activity, but it shouldn’t be. A quality pair of rain pants along with a rain jacket will allow you to hike through the storm until it clears. Rain pants can also be used as a less-bulky alternative to snow pants when mountaineering or hiking in snow.

Marmot’s PreCip rain pants are among the best available (and they were rated so by Wirecutter). Like a rain jacket, they’re constructed with a waterproof membrane but are still breathable enough for active use. They also have three pockets — two on the side and one rear — and shin-high ankle zips that let you slide them on while wearing shoes or hiking boots (you don’t want to be taking those off if you get caught in a squall). The PreCip Pants also weigh just under nine ounces and can be easily stashed in a pack for those just-in-case moments.

Save $16: Apple still doesn’t sell AirPods in the “certified refurbished” part of its site, but Best Buy does. You can get a set of refurbished AirPods on Best Buy or eBay for $143 — that’s $16 off their original MSRP. It’s not a lot, but to the best of my knowledge, it’s the only place you can get any type of deal on Apple AirPods.
