LG-OLED-TV-gear-patrol-full-leadLG

LG OLED C7P 65-Inch TV
Save DEAL: The C7P is LG’s flagship OLED TV. It has the same stunning 4K picture quality as the brand’s high-end W7 OLED, just without the wallpaper-thin design and extremely high price tag. We also selected it as one of the best OLED TVs in 2017. It’s an excellent TV to consider if you’re looking to make the jump to OLED, and eBay is currently offering a 65-inch C7P for $2,249 — that’s roughly $2,000 less than what it normally was going for earlier this year, and $450 less than what it’s going for on Best Buy and Amazon (which is $2,700). — Tucker Bowe

Exotac-Titanlight-Lighter-gear-patrol-lead-full

Exotac TitanLIGHT Survival Lighter
Save 20%: There’s a reason why making fire using nothing but a couple of pieces of wood is considered the ultimate survival skill. Fire, and the heat it provides, is critical should things go awry in the wilderness. But making a bow drill is much harder than it looks, so it’s a good idea to have a reliable backup. Exotac’s TitanLIGHT is constructed from machined aluminum, is designed with a high rim wind guard, and uses a flint lighter fluid, a wick and flint wheel to ignite. But most importantly, it’s waterproof up to one meter, so rain won’t extinguish its ability to make a flame. — Tanner Bowden

Dyson-CY18-gear-patrol-lead-full

ITEM
Save $430: On eBay, you can score a great deal on a certified refurbished Dyson canister vacuum, the CY18 Cinetic Animal. Though the same vacuum normally retails for $600, it’s currently listed for $170 (72% off). That’s a total of $430 in savings. Wowza. — Jack Seemer

InstaPot-Sale-gear-patrol-full-lead

Save 31%: Instant Pot has had quite the year. The latest model of the everything-in-one cooker — and by “everything” we mean pressure cooker, slow cooker, yogurt maker, steamer and rice cooker — has received excellent reviews and was a top seller on Amazon Prime Day. It’s smaller sibling, the three-quart Instant Pot Duo Mini 3, is just as capable a machine despite being half the size and comes equipped with all functions that have made it a favorite among home chefs. Plus, it won’t take up as much space on an already-cramped counter. — Tanner Bowden

Black-Diamond-headlamp-gear-patrol-full-leadBlack Diamond

Leesa-Matress-gear-patrol-full-leadLeesa

Leesa King Size Mattress
Save $246: Here’s an understatement: there are a lot of comes-in-a-box foam mattresses. Ever since Casper upended the mattress industry a la Warby Parker, internet bed companies have been sprouting up almost on a monthly basis. Included in the crowd is Leesa, whose foam mattress adapts to different body shapes and sleep styles (and it comes with that handy 100 day trial period). It’s the top-rated foam mattress by the reviewers at the Wirecutter, and it also gets this writer’s seal of approval — I’ve been sleeping on a Leesa for the past month.

Right now, on Amazon, those looking to upgrade their sleep experience can pick up a king size Leesa mattress for over $200 off, which makes it cheaper than buying the queen size. — Tanner Bowden

Hugh-n-Crye-gear-patrol-full-leadHugh and Crye

Custom Shirts and Blazers From Hugh & Crye
Save 20%: One of the toughest (or near impossible) tasks one can embark on is buying a shirt or a blazer for someone else and have it fit them properly, no tailoring needed. But, for you last minutes shoppers, Hugh & Crye makes that mission a little bit easier and could make you look like a hero in the process. Instead of trying to eye up your friend’s or family member’s exact size and hope every aspect of the shirt or jacket — sleeve length, waist fit, chest fit — sit right too, Hughe & Crye does sizing by height and build. It may seem like a broad stroke approach to sizing but ends up with a better overall fit and finish. And, today you can save 20% on select sale items, including those usually hard to size shirts and blazers. — Bryan Campbell

Fuji-XT20-gear-patrol-full-lead

Fujifilm X-T20 Mirrorless Camera
Save $100: Fuji’s X-T2 is arguably the best mirrorless camera you can buy. If you don’t have the $1,500+ (body only) to buy it, the X-T20 is a worthy fallback plan.

Released in February 2017, the X-T20 is basically a smaller and more affordable version of the X-T2 — they have almost identical shooting abilities. Aside from size and price, the main difference is that the X-T20 doesn’t have a touchscreen. Still, it’s arguably a better value than the X-T2. And if you order on Amazon, you can get $100 off the Fujifilm X-T20 with an XC16-50mm lens kit. — Tucker Bowe

Mountain-Hardwear-Duffel-gear-patrol-full-leadMountain

Mountain Hardwear OutDry Duffel
Save 20%: There are a lot of choices when it comes to duffel bags. Canvas or leather, sporty or stylish, and then there’s what color — but in the end what makes a duffel great is its ability to carry and protect all your stuff when you’re on the road.

There’s nothing flashy about the OutDry Duffel; no shiny plastic-like fabric or bright “outdoorsy” colors. But make no mistake, this bag is capable of taking a beating. Mountain Hardwear’s OutDry tech entails a custom-shaped waterproof membrane laminated to the bag’s inner, which seals fabrics and seams all at once. Just to be sure it worked, the brand sealed the bag away in a rain room for 24 hours, so although the fabric may not feel waterproof, rest assured that your stuff will remain dry once inside. The simplistic look won’t draw attention to would-be bag thieves, either.

The OutDry Duffel is currently 20% off at Backcountry and is available in sizes from carry-on to fits-everything-you-own. — Tanner Bowden

Cuisinart-DBM-8AMZ-Supreme-Grind-gear-patrol-lead-fullCuisinart

Cuisinart’s DBM-8AMZ Supreme Grind Coffee Grinder
Save 58%: Making great coffee requires a good brewer and quality beans. But also contingent is having them freshly ground. While many burr grinders cost hundreds (and rightfully so), there are still decent grinders in the sub-$100 range. Cuisinart’s DBM-8AMZ Supreme Grind is a great example, featuring 18 coarseness settings and automatic grinding (there’s no deadman’s switch like on other burr grinders). It can grind enough beans for up to 18 cups of coffee at a time and its grind chamber holds 32 cups so it’s ideal for making gratuitous batches of coffee in one go. While there are undoubtedly higher-end options out there, if you’re merely looking to upgrade your coffee game on a budget you could certainly do worse than the DBM-8AMZ, given Amazon is currently taking off a solid 58% on the already affordable grinder. — Andrew Connor

Smart-Farm-gear-patrol-full-leadSmart

Click and Grow Smart Farm
Save 34%: When the apocalypse hits, you’ll need to grow your own food. But even if feelings of paranoia don’t govern your everyday habits, Click and Grow’s Smart Farm is a sustainable way to raise an entire crop of food, indoors. The fully-automated farm can accommodate up to 288 plants in three platform levels. That may seem like a lot to handle, but the entire spread requires just two hours of work per week by a single person. Compared to the traditional outdoor farm, the Smart Farm saves on water and reduces waste — all without toxic pesticides or herbicides.

The Smart Farm is Click and Grow’s biggest product (it’s roughly 5′ 7″ by 16′ 5″), which works for larger homes or larger shared spaces like offices or schools. But if you don’t need an entire farm, Click and Grow does offer a range of smaller, home and apartment-friendly models. The Smart Garden, for instance, can hold three to nine plants and is ideal for countertops. These smaller models also come with great savings when you subscribe to a year’s worth of Click and Grow’s seeds, which include everything from romaine lettuce to purple chili peppers. — Tanner Bowden

Jaybird-X3-Wireless-Running-Headphones-gear-patrol-full-lead

Jaybird X3 Wireless Headphones
Save $50: Running headphones can be pretty expensive. No, let me rephrase that. Quality running headphones can be pretty expensive. I’ve tested a lot of sweat-resistant wireless headphones in the past year, and some of my favorites by Bose, Beats and Jabra go for between $130 and $200. The Jaybird X3s, which I also like, usually cost $130, but you can buy them now on Amazon or Best Buy for $80 — that’s $50 off. (Best Buy edges Amazon out by offering the X3s in more colors.)

Additional info: The X3s share many of the same features as other wireless workout headphones, but Jaybird claims, with the X3s’ slim design, that they’re also great for skiers and mountain bikers who need to fit them under a helmet. Additionally, the X3s also have a longer Bluetooth range than the traditional 30+ feet; and, via the MySound app, you can tinker with the music’s EQ levels — Tucker Bowe

Rumpl-Sale-gear-patrol-full-lead

Rumpl Adventure Blankets
Save up to 35%: It’s official: 2017 was the year of the adventure blanket. Yep, sleeping bags are no longer the only viable option for outdoor bedding, and the company leading that charge by diving head first into the trend is Rumpl.

Uninspired by the lack of innovation happening in the world of bedding (and holed up in a frozen car), Rumpl’s founders drew inspiration directly from technical outdoor gear to redesign the blanket and make it fit for hammock camping, cabin hanging, #VanLifing and every other pursuit that gets people out and adventuring. Rumpl’s first product, the Original Puffy Blanket, is constructed with a water repellent ripstop nylon shell, filled with lofty synthetic insulation and compresses into a convenient stuff sack. Right now it’s also 23% off.

Prefer to keep your adventures indoors? Rumpl’s Super Fleece comforter is also 35% off. It’s built for beds, but it still packs plenty of tech-heavy features, such as antimicrobial and odor-resistant fleece and a stain- and water-resistant shell. — Tanner Bowden

DON-gear-patrol-Luminox-watch

Luminox P-38 Lightening Automatic
Save $900: Luminox’s P-38 Lighting is a part of the brand’s aviation-inspired lineup and is fitted with a dial meant to look like it was ripped straight from the cockpit of Lockheed’s funky, two-tailed fighter. As a part of its military-inspired look, it comes with a hulking 44mm case; this might be a non-starter for some guys, but if you have a predilection for big watches, it’s an excellent choice in wristwear. Similarly, the watch comes adorned with stylish and legible Arabic numerals as well as tritium gas lume and a chunky rotating bezel that sits atop the square case.

This iteration of the P-38 Lighting, in particular, comes packing a Swiss-made automatic movement which contributes to its $1,400 MSRP, but right now you can get a massive $900 markdown at Huckberry. — Andrew Connor

LG-Electronics-PF1000UW-gear-patrol-full-leadLG

LG Minibeam Ultra Short Throw Projector
Save $400: When building your home theater, a projector has several key advantages over a television. You can have a much larger screen, for one, and the image is actually easier on your eyes — the light that reflects off a white or gray screen is less intense than the light that’s beamed directly at you as on an LED and OLED TV. That said, setting up a projector can be more complicated, as you need to consider things like the room’s size, wall space and brightness, as well the projector’s throw distance.

If you’re set on buying a projector, LG’s Minibeam Ultra Short Throw Projector (PF1000U) is a great one to consider. It’s an ultra-short throw projector, which means that it only needs a few inches of space to throw a really big screen — it can project up to a 100-inch screen from 15 inches away. It produces a full HD 1080p picture and also acts as a smart TV, via WebOS, so that you can stream apps like Netflix, Hulu, YouTube and HBO Now. It also has built-in wi-fi for easy installation.

The LG PF1000U normally costs $1,400, which is fairly expensive, considering it was released in 2015 and isn’t capable of 4K. However, you can get it on Amazon for $997, which is $400 off its normal MSRP. — Tucker Bowe

DON-gear-patrol-Sony-M2

Sony Noise Cancelling Headphones
Save $52: When they launched in September, the Sony WH-1000XM2 headphones replaced the popular MDR-1000X in Sony’s wireless noise-canceling lineup. They look almost identical but the WH-1000XM2s boast a slightly grippier texture and come with a few extra features, including Sony’s Quick Attention — it allows users to lower the volume of music by putting their hand over the right earcup. Though the WH-1000XM2 headphones normally retail for $350, they’re currently 15% off on Amazon for a $52 discount. If you’re shopping for Christmas, note that the black pair is out of stock until December 21, 2017. — Jack Seemer
