The Samba is the little sneaker that could. Conceived in the 1950s as a winter soccer shoe, the old-school design has proved its staying power with sales skyrocketing over the past few years.
In fact, demand was so high in 2022 — the peak of the so-called “Samba Summer” — that pairs of the $100 Samba OGs were reportedly selling for more than $500 on sites like StockX. The shoe also topped the Lyst Index, a quarterly report of the hottest brands and products.

Though Adidas’s manufacturing lines have since caught up with the hype train, the Samba remains as popular as ever.
In October alone, we’ve seen Adidas release a trio of luxury takes on the shoe, including a $250 rendition by way of Grace Wales Bonner that sold out damn near instantly.
A rare deal on the Samba OG
If that price sounds too steep for you, head on over to Dick’s Sporting Goods.
The retailer just dropped the price on a handful of Samba OGs, bringing the price down to $75 for the red-and-white colorway of the same shoe that recently demanded much, much more.
