When you think of The North Face apparel, what comes to mind? If you’re a product nerd like us, maybe something from the brand’s groundbreaking FutureLight collection. However, there’s a strong chance the first image that popped into your head was the Denali Fleece, and for good reason. Part of the kit worn by Todd Skinner and Paul Piana during their first free ascent of El Capitan’s Salathé Wall way back in 1988, the original Denali redefined technical fleece while simultaneously becoming a staple of chilly morning coffee and brunch runs.
TNF recently brought back the second generation, the Denali 2, with the Earth-friendly twist of constructing it with Repreve recycled fleece. And while the hooded version of this item normally retails for $199, you can score one for just $89 thanks to REI. The garment is already 40 percent off, and, today only, you get an additional 25 percent off when you add it to the cart. One caveat: the sale only applies to the British Khaki colorway shown above. Sizes small through XL are available, though.
