We probably don’t have to sing Seiko‘s praises as a value proposition anymore, as we tend to do so on a near daily basis here on Gear Patrol. But for those of you who aren’t regular readers, allow us to sing Seiko’s praises as a value proposition:
Seiko makes some of the best value in mechanical watches. They’re inexpensive, relatively robust for what they are, come in a dizzying array of model choices and dial colors, and widely available. There.
Take this Seiko Recraft model SNKP23 by way of example. It’s got a Seiko cal. 7S26 automatic movement with 41 hours of power reserve and a day-date display, a rectangular 39.5mm case that’s water-resistant to 50m and a matching stainless steel bracelet with fold-over push-button clasp. If you’re going for that funky 1970s look, this Recraft could be the move. Best of all, it’s only $133 right now on Amazon.
