Owning a Bob Kramer knife is a status symbol. Just ask culinary giants like Thomas Keller, Charlie Palmer and Andrew Zimmern. Kramer’s knives sell at auctions for tens of thousands of dollars, and he’s got a years-long waitlist to boot.
Today on Amazon, the Kramer-designed Euroline 8-inch Chef’s Knife is marked down to its lowest price ever. Manufactured by Zwilling, these blades share plenty of design features with those made by Kramer’s own hand — a polished bolster, curvy ergonomic handle, his tri-circle logo on the handle and a blade that starts wide near the handle and tapers out toward the tip. Altogether, you’ve got a blade that’s decidedly western, but versatile enough to act as both a rough chopping tool and a blade fit for more precise slicing jobs.
It should be noted that this is a high carbon steel blade, meaning it shouldn’t be washed in a dishwasher or left with any moisture on it. If you’re serious about picking up a carbon steel knife, it would be wise to pick up some knife oil, too.
