These Bucket List Chef’s Knives Have Never Been Cheaper

Bob Kramer is likely America’s most renowned bladesmith.

For most people on the planet, buying a new Bob Kramer knife is a pipe dream. Owned by esteemed chefs and food moguls like Thomas Keller, Charlie Palmer and Andrew Zimmern, Kramer’s waitlist for custom knives is years long, and his auctions frequently see individual blades close at prices in the tens of thousands.

The good news is that if you want a knife designed (but not made) by Bob Kramer, it’s markedly less expensive. Kramer’s series of knives produced by Zwilling are not as enviable as those that Kramer makes himself, but they carry much of the same DNA.

The Kramer Euroline Essential chef’s knife sports a wide blade, polished bolster, curvy ergonomic handle and the tri-circle logo on the handle — all indicative of a Kramer-designed blade. This is also the only Kramer-designed knife to be produced using stainless steel rather than carbon steel, making it perfect for those who don’t want to deal with the requisite maintenance of a carbon steel blade.

Today, that knife is 36 percent off — good for a $90 savings.
