Back in April, Nike shut down the I-90 Freeway in Los Angeles, just as they closed off the Manhattan Bridge in New York City to celebrate the launch of the new Epic React and React foam. It was a huge endeavor — I-90 hadn’t been shut down since the Olympics in 1984. Runners from all over both cities (and the surrounding areas) ran either a 10K or 5K, sprinting down highways and closed lanes to reach the finish. On that exact day, I raced in the Odyssey Reacts, a slightly less expensive version of the Epic Reacts, with the same foam and a more sturdy (and supportive) upper. I’ve been running in the Epic Reacts since January of this year, and they’re still the shoe I reach for when I want to feel fast. These two shoes are ripe for a 5K, 10K or even 15K race.
Each is light and springy with plenty of cushion underfoot to keep you feeling like you’re on marshmallows. Both are for neutral runners and weigh less than 10 ounces so you won’t feel the toll after hundreds of miles. Shop both styles today at JackRabbit and save up to $60. It’s just the kick you need to start logging miles in 2019.
