This $284 Dutch Oven Can Be Yours for Less Than $100

Staub’s dutch ovens are easily some of the best pieces of cookware the intrepid home cook can buy, and today they can be had for 60 percent off.

Though frustratingly expensive, Staub Dutch ovens are among the most coveted in the cooking world. From a craftsmanship, prestige and performance perspective, the pots are on-par (if not better, for some people) than those made by Le Creuset.

More specifically, Staub’s ovens hold heat (they’re slightly heavier) and moisture (the lid is a significantly tighter fit) better than Le Creuset, which are good traits for stew and soup season, as consistent heat and moisture retention are critical to the finished dish’s taste.

Now through December, Food52 is offering Staub’s 4-quart, $284 oven for just $99. Available in matte black, cherry, turquoise or turmeric, the 4-quart is slightly smaller than the traditional 5.5- to 6-quart oven, but there’s still plenty of room for two or three people.
