Tivoli Audio’s Model One ($150 $83) was released in the early 2000s and the company still sells the undoubtedly pretty tabletop radio. It has a handmade wood cabinet and a large tactile dial for switching between stations, and it looks like an antique. But the Model One also sounds wonderful for its size. It has a 3-inch full-range speaker and its tuner is actually able to strengthen signals, which is great for those who are in areas of poor reception.
Last year, Tivoli Audio released a more modern version of the radio, the Model One Digital ($300), which adds Bluetooth and wi-fi connectivity, as well as a digital screen, but the company still sells its original Model One. However, it’s cheaper than ever. You can get it for as low as $83 on Amazon right now, which is almost half off and a great deal for those who don’t have a smart speaker and still love listening to AM/FM radio.
