Diefendorff is a new American boutique watch brand with an interesting backstory. Founder James Reeves’s ancestor, Captain Henry Diefendorff, fought and was killed in the American Revolutionary War, and Reeves fashioned his brand and its aesthetics as an homage to this man, who died 200 years before his birth.

His first watches, called the Cornelius Collection, are available in blue, green, brown and woven carbon fiber dials and feature the Swiss-made Sellita SW200 automatic movement, a 42mm stainless steel case with a unique bezel design, sapphire crystal and case back, 100 meters of water resistance, a date wheel at 3 o’clock, lumed hands and markers and 7 different leather strap options (extra strap options are available separately, including a mesh bracelet). While the retail price on the blue, green and brown dials is normally $899 and that of the carbon fiber dial $949, Reeves is offering a special discount of $50 to GP readers by using the code GP50 at checkout.
