The JBL Everest 100 Elite ($200 $30) are noise-canceling in-ear headphones that were released in 2016. JBL appears to be phasing out them in favor of the newer JBL Everest 150NC ($200), however, so you really can’t buy “brand new” Everest 100 Elite headphones anywhere. You can, although, get a pair for wicked cheap if you shop refurbished. Both eBay and JBL are selling refurbished models of the Everest 100 Elite headphones for just $30. That’s $170 off what they were going less than two years ago.
Full disclosure – I haven’t tested the Everest 100 Elite headphones, so I can’t speak to exactly how they perform. Judging by other sites, however, the Everest 100 Elite have gotten mixed reviews. Morgan Despot of Major Hi-Fi wrote highly of the JBL Everest 100 Elite: “This sounds like a JBL Everest headphone, they all have similar sonic footprints. For being an in-ear active noise-canceling headphone JBL has engineered a pretty decent piece of technology. With the market also being pretty slim in this area I wouldn’t be surprised to see this being one of the better selling models out there in time.” Also, the average review score on JBL’s product page is 3/5 stars.
For just $30, the JBL Everest 100 Elite are a pretty low-risk-potentially-high-reward buy. That said, if you’re looking for more a “sure deal” and are willing to spend a little more, the best in-ear noise-canceling headphones that I’ve tested are the Bose QuietControl 30 ($299). They’re fantastic.
