If there are certain areas in your home that don’t get wi-fi – we call them “dead spots” – a mesh-router system is a great and simple solution. There are a number of popular mesh-router systems out there, and they all basically do the same thing, but Google’s own system, called Google Wi-fi, is probably the best. It’s the cheapest, for starters, and it’s also the easiest to set up and monitor. All you need to do is plug one “hub” into your modem and the app walks you through the rest.
For those with a small home or an apartment, one hub is probably all you need: it covers an area between 500-1500 square feet. Normally $129, it’s down to just $99 at B&H right now. If you already have a Google Wi-Fi system and want to add to it, this is also a solid deal.
