The Play:1 ($149 $119) has been around for years and it’s still the cheapest, most entry-level Sonos speaker you can buy. It’s the same size as the Sonos One ($199), and sounds virtually the same, but it doesn’t have Alexa built-in – that’s the only real difference. Anybody with a Sonos sound system knows how good and versatile a Play:1 speaker can be. It can be used as a single wireless speaker or be integrated in a larger multi-room system. If you have Sonos’s Playbar($699), Beam ($399) or Playbase ($699), you can designate multiple Play:1s as a left or right channel, or a surround sound (rear) speaker in a home theater system, too. They’re great.
The Sonos Play:1 speaker normally costs $149, but Sonos is selling certified refurbished models on its website for just $119 – you save an extra $30 per speaker. If you looking to add to your current Sonos system, or if you’re late to the party and just want to try one out, it’s a great chance to get one (or more) Sonos speakers on the cheap.
Note: At the time of posting, only white refurbished Sonos Play:1 speakers are available.
