Save $210 on an Excellent Cordless Dyson Vac

The prices of Dyson’s newest vacuums are exorbitant.

As a rule of thumb, the prices at which Dyson sets it products exclude them from consideration for most people. Its older products, though less talked about, are not so painfully expensive, go on sale often and, truthfully, aren’t that far behind in performance.

The brand’s line of wireless, handheld vacuums — all named with a “V” and a number — is its latest endeavor. The V10, which released earlier this year, is the latest and retails for $500 and up (depending on how many attachments you want on it). It is incredibly powerful, its battery lasts a bit longer than past models and its dustbin empties in a satisfyingly unfussy way. But, you shouldn’t buy it.

Instead, consider this V6, which is 55 percent off on Ebay right now. The V6 features full HEPA filtration, plenty of suction for most households (if you have high pile rugs or carpet and shedding pets, look for more power) and almost half an hour of continuous operation.

This specific model is one of Dyson’s manufacturer refurbs, which is a virtual non-factor. The brand describes its refurb products as having “been thoroughly tested to meet like-new performance standards. Units may have some cosmetic blemishes that include scratches and/or other surface imperfections, that do not affect functionality.”

The refurbished V6 is marked down to $190 from $400.
