The Sony WH1000XM2 and the Bose QC35 II are, undoubtedly, two of the best noise-canceling headphones you can buy. They’re fairly different, though, with Bose’s pair being more lightweight and comfortable to wear, and Sony’s pair being more feature-packed. Both sound great and have excellent noise-canceling abilities. And both normally hover in the $350 price range. You can read our full reviews on both the Sony WH1000XM2 (here) and the Bose QC35 II (here) if you want to dive a little deeper, but from a consumer’s perspective, both these top-tiered headphones are under $300 right now on Amazon.

It’s worth mentioning that at IFA 2018, Sony announced the WH-1000XM3, which feature a noise-cancelling processor QN1 so that they’re supposedly four times better at noise-cancellation than the 1000XM2. The new headphones also offer new conveniences, such as a USB-C charging port and “quick charging” – 10 minutes of charging can give the headphones up to five hours of playtime. These are available now for $350.
