Bonavita’s drip coffee makers are praised both for their ability to make a cup of Joe on par with manual pour-over methods (sans fuss) and their relatively affordable price (they’re a hell of a lot cheaper than a comparable Technivorm, that’s for sure). Bonavita’s BV1900TS is even one of the very few drip coffee makers to get a stamp of approval from the Specialty Coffee Association of America (SCAA). That’s thanks to features like a pre-infusion mode for freshly ground coffee, a consistent water heater that keeps water at the optimal brewing temperature. The BV1901TS here is actually an update to the BV1900TS’s design, keeping those fundamental features but adding ergonomic improvements to the grounds basket and thermal carafe.
A campaign on Massdrop has lowered the BV1901TS’s already reasonable $160 asking price down to $100. For one of the best drip coffee brewers on the market, that’s a hell of a deal.
