Tupperware is on fire right now. The company announced Wednesday that its net income from the third quarter of 2020 were $34.4 million, up from $7.8 million during the same period last year. But this increase in profits isn’t without its drawbacks — currently orders from Tupperware’s website are taking up to eight weeks to ship.
People are stocking up on food storage containers, and Tupperware just happens to be synonymous with them. (So much so that some people even call non-branded Tupperware containers “Tupperware.”) The demand is partly attributed to the public’s desire to move away from single-use plastics and mostly a result of people needing something to store their leftover food in, a result of more at-home cooking because of the pandemic.
Luckily there are a number of alternative food storage containers still available online. Some of the best, Oxo’s Smart Seal, is in stock and on sale for 20 percent off. And because it’s also on sale on Amazon, you can take advantage of your Prime membership and get them in a couple days.
The containers are leak-proof, stackable and dishwasher-safe. Because they’re made of borosilicate glass, the containers can go from fridge to oven without breaking. They’re available in a variety of sizes to hold anything as small as some grapes to a full-on dinner. While the deal lasts until November 16, you should hurry and stock up now because we don’t know how long these will be in stock for.
