In today’s world, there are a lot of extremely capable off-road SUVs ideal for camping. There are also tons of trailers that can be pulled behind those vehicles, even if you plan to go off-road. But when you scale up to full-sized RVs, the capabilities tend to decrease as the amenities increase.
Well, the Torsus Praetorian Liberra off-road RV upends that trend in several awe-inspiring ways. Not only does this recreational vehicle have an ultra-luxe interior, but it also has terrain-tackling chops more closely associated with extreme 4×4 vehicles.

Straight bussin’
This version was based on the Torsus Praetorian, which wasn’t initially intended as an RV. But it’s easy to see how it could make the perfect blueprint for an adventure vehicle.
When it was introduced in 2018, it was launched as a bus designed to move personnel across some of the harshest terrain in the world. It was made for extreme environments, like those tackled in the mining, forestry, emergency response and safari industries.
As such, it’s built on a MAN TGM 4×4 chassis with a massively powerful 6-cylinder diesel engine. Along with being able to cross unforgiving landscapes, it can also ford depths of up to 70 cm (27.5 inches). It also boasts three differential locks, an integrated cable winch, a high-strength GRP outer skin and a special military external finish.
