This Stealthy Chevy Suburban Will Embarrass So Many Quick Cars

Hennessey Performance’s new H600 variant of the 2025 Chevy Suburban offers plenty of performance enhancements and is surprisingly easy to buy.

The Chevy Suburban has many distinctive traits, but speed was never traditionally one of them.

Apparently, the Sealey, Texas-based mad scientists at John Hennessey’s namesake Hennessey Performance wanted that to change.

The tuner’s new H600 upgrade to the 2025 Chevy Suburban equipped with a factory GM 6.2-liter V8 blends stealthy, menacing looks with a slew of performance enhancements to transform the seven-passenger tank into a super-powered rocket capable of toasting plenty of other quick cars off the line.

And most intriguing, for the first time ever for a Hennessey vehicle, interested buyers can purchase one directly through participating Chevy dealers.

A Massive HP Boost

The headline feature of the Hennessey H600 Suburban is just how much it boosts the power available from the factory GM 6.2-liter V8.

A high-performance 3.0-liter supercharger system, paired with advanced engine management calibration and fueling and cooling upgrades, boosts the engine’s stock 420 HP to 625 horsepower and 633 pound-feet of torque.

Those stats are still far below the eye-boggling 682 HP offered by the 2025 Cadillac Escalade-V series. But that car also costs $162,500 at retail.

Other Ride Upgrades

To complement this massive increase in power, Hennessey also added a 2.5-inch front and rear suspension lowering kit to fight body roll and six-piston performance front brakes with flashy red calipers to slow this asteroid with seats down.

Menacing and Minimalist

I’m not in love with the large Hennessey decal slapped across the top of the front windshield, but presumably, it could be removed.

Otherwise, the H600 is a relatively discrete souped-up take on the massive family SUV.

Still, H600 badging, Firestone Firehawk Pursuit tires, 24-inch black wheels and a sport touring catback exhaust system are all details that offer hints to eagle-eyed drivers about what might be lurking under the hood.

Easy to Buy

While there are plenty of companies willing to take customers’ money to craft bespoke, ludicrously powerful variants of vehicles, few offer the peace of mind or buying convenience offered by the H600.

It’s the first Hennessey vehicle customers can order directly from a Chevy or GM dealership, which means it’s still covered under GM’s three-year, 36,000 warranty and available with dealer financing options as well as support.

Here’s a look at how much faster the H600 version of the Chevy Tahoe is off the line compared to a standard GMC Yukon. It’s reasonable to expect a similar leap in performance in the Suburban.

Owners who purchased a new 2025 Chevy Suburban with a 6.2-liter V8 (L87 EcoTec3) engine can also buy the upgrade directly from Hennessey.

That said, as of the time of publication, it’s not totally clear how GM’s massive and messy voluntary recall of SUVs equipped with the 6.2L V8 impacts the H600, given that the vehicle is based on the same engine.

The recall itself applied specifically to the 2021 to 2024 model year vehicles, and GM has also issued a stop-sale order for affected vehicles in dealer inventory.

The upgrade may be easier to buy than any Hennessey tweaked vehicle in history. However, the company is still only reportedly making 100 versions, meaning interested parties will need to act fast to secure a spot in the queue.

There’s also no word yet on how much this upgrade will cost, but we hope its cheaper than the Escalade V-Series by $20,000 or more.
