Slapping a fairing on a Harley Sportster is like putting a velodrome cycle helmet on Sly Stallone. Somehow, the nutty design works wonderfully on the Roland Sands Designs “Race-ster” Sportster.
Through mods that the American bike designer claims could be done in your garage (yeah, right), the Race-ster alters the basic Harley-Davidson Sportster with an RSD 450 SuperSingle fairing, Revolution Performance 1250 kit, Vance & Hines header and Screaming eagle cams. The resulting ride has a robust 90 horsepower. Coat the bike with a gorgeous two-tone Airtrix paint job with black and yellow stripes, and you’ve got one beautiful, punchy resto-mod.
