Ducati is doing quite well these days. With a huge rise in market sales in 2011, the momentum is overwhelming, and that’s good for the rest of us because it means more designs and, frankly, more phenomenal bikes by the Italian motorcycle company. Following on the heels of the versatile Multistrada and the beastly Diavel comes the Ducati Monster Diesel Edition. About to make its world debut in New York City on March 15th, the Monster Diesel Edition is built on the same platform as the eminently capable Monster 1100 Evo, with a two-valve, 100 hp engine, wet clutch and ABS. The same black trellis frame will show up on the Diesel, but the wheels and engine cover will sport a slick matte green paint job and the exhaust pipes will have sweet and stealthy heat shields, which look very futuristic. Contrasting bright yellow brake calipers will make this version pop with a bit of welcomed color. The overall look is pretty damned cool and nothing less than what we expect from Ducati. Pricing yet to be disclosed.
