A New Waxed Canvas Motorcycle Jacket as Functional as It Is Timeless

Modern-day protection on top of that highly-coveted historic look.

Ashley Watson recently launched the Eversholt Jacket, his first fully functional wax-canvas motorcycle jacket, with a look as timeless as the jacket is functional. Designed by Watson himself and made in England, his new jacket is one of the few out there that seriously combines vintage style with the protection expected of modern motorcycle jackets.

Since well-known brands like Belstaff or Barbour put out similarly priced wax canvas jackets, it would be fair to assume that a jacket of this ilk would simply look good and not offer anything beyond vintage styling. What you can’t see, though, is the removable D30 armor inserts at the shoulders, elbows and back — the same level of impact protection you’ll find in motorcycle racing suits and any modern motorcycle jacket rated for highway speeds. In addition to the hidden protection, the Eversholt Jacket also has built in storm guards at the neck and cuff, making the jacket fully waterproof, for those rides where the weather doesn’t exactly cooperate.

It’s fair to say the vintage-styled, waxed canvas motorcycle jacket market is a crowded one. That said, when other brands only offer style at this price point, consider the Eversholt Jacket goes several steps beyond and gives you real-world, modern-day protection on top of that highly-coveted historic look.
