Innovative green technology and our fondness for two-wheeled machinations don’t often cross, but when they do it certainly grabs our attention. Brammo has staked its flag right in our crossroads with the new Enertia Plus ($8,995), the sequel to the original two-wheeled urban commuter.
At the heart of the Enertia Plus lies a newly developed Brammo Power battery system developed through racing at the Isle of Man. It’s based of lithium-ion batteries, like those in your laptop, in favor of the original lithium phosphate cells. The new system powers the Enertia Plus with 80 miles of go-juice, twice that of the original Enertia. In combination with a direct-drive transmission, the Enertia Plus is good for a 60 mph top speed and 30 ft-lb of torque from 0 RPM. Yep, zero.
But improved batteries and range aren’t the only thing you’ll find here. Brammo has upgraded the Enertia Plus with a menagerie of updates and improvements including a simpler charging process (just plug it in), tighter turning radius, improved suspension geometry, and four new colors (True Blood Orange shown above). The continued use of premium components including Marzocchi forks, Brembo brakes, and Works Performance rear shock all find their way into the Plus. As for downsides? We can only think of one: why the hell doesn’t our building’s parking garage have outlets?

Take Note Original Brammo Enertia owners aren’t out of luck. Brammo is offering current Enertia owners $2,500 towards an Enertia Plus and giving away a Brammo Enertia Plus to one of the first 1,000 pre-order customers.
