Too many cooks in the kitchen is usually a bad thing. But when those cooks include names like Huckberry, Toyota Tacoma, The James Brand, Rumpl, Aaron Draplin … well, you’ve just got to pull up to the table and enjoy the delicious feast you’re about to be served.

Online retailer Huckberry has teamed up with Toyota for a Tacoma-themed collection that honors the heritage of the iconic truck with a suite of clothing and gear featuring Draplin-penned designs inspired by Toyota’s old-school TRD “tricolor” colors of red, orange and yellow made famous by racing legend Ivan Stewart in the 1980s.

Huckberry x Tacoma x Draplin

The new collection features exclusive designs created by Aaron Draplin. In case you’re not super plugged into the gear space, Draplin is a legendary product designer. He’s the co-founder of Field Notes, he’s collab’d with The James Brand, and his company Draplin Design Co. — or DDC — has worked with everyone from Nike to Finex Cast Iron.

For the new Tacoma capsule, Draplin applied his signature bold and retro aesthetic across a range of clothing. He came up with a custom Huckberry x Tacoma logo featuring Huckberry’s tree logo against a Toyota tricolor background, and he leaned heavily into the truck’s “Taco” moniker for a series of colorful vintage-inspired tees, hoodies and trucker hats.

More Than Just Clothes

As cool as the Draplin-designed apparel is — and it’s all very cool — the Huckberry x Tacoma Collection also includes custom gear that’s perfect for hitting the road in your Taco.

The gear consists of a trio of Huckberry favorites, re-themed as Tacoma accessories.

I’m not sure Rumpl’s Puffy Blanket has ever looked better than this version, which features Toyota’s tricolor pattern.

First, there’s a pair of Give’r work gloves with a yellow leather exterior and featuring Toyota and Huckberry branding. Then there’s a special version of The James Brand’s bottle-opening Mehlville EDC carabiner in a black and orange colorway that includes Tacoma branding and the Huckberry logo.

Finally, there’s my personal favorite, a Rumpl Puffy Blanket in the Toyota tricolor scheme with Draplin’s “taco” logo emblazoned on it in black underneath a Huckberry x Tacoma badge. The Draplin-designed blanket looks absolutely spectacular, and it will stay looking good thanks to its stain-resistant DWR coating. Even its water-resistant stuff sack looks great, as it mimics the blanket’s head-turning design.

The collection is available now exclusively at Huckberry, save for a three-pack of patches and a trucker hat that are listed as “coming soon.” Everything here is sure to be a hot seller, so if you’re looking to purchase anything, I’d recommend doing it sooner rather than later.
