Honda has arguably been the major manufacturer lagging the farthest behind on electric vehicles — if not the most notable. But that’s about to change. The brand just unveiled the new 2024 Prologue EV. The two-row midsize SUV is Honda’s first mass-market EV for America and its first electric SUV. And you can think about it as the prologue to a broader shift from Honda in the years to come.
Here’s everything you need to know about the 2024 Honda Prologue.
The Honda Prologue runs on the GM Ultium platform

Honda took a shortcut to get an EV on the road by 2024 by partnering with General Motors. The Prologue uses GM’s Ultium platform and — beneath the exterior styling — bears a lot of resemblance to vehicles like the Blazer EV.
So, how much of the Prologue is a “Honda”?

The raw material is very GM. Honda claims they tuned the steering and suspension to provide a direct, nimble, Honda-like driving experience. We’ll have to wait to drive it to determine whether that effort succeeded.
The biggest differentiator between the Prologue and GM electric SUVs is likely to be the styling. Honda’s “new-rugged” treatment leans heavily on the new Civic inside and out.
