Ford isn’t building a Mustang Raptor … yet. But this electric SUV sort of moves in that direction.

Ford has not confirmed plans to build a wild Mustang Raptor yet. But the brand is kind of headed that way with the new Mach-E Rally. Ford sees an “entirely untapped whitespace” of rally-inspired vehicles. We might call it the Mustang Mach-E’s take on Ford’s Tremor or Timberline trims.

How is the Mustang Mach-E Rally different from the GT?

The Mustang Mach-E Rally has the same 480 horsepower from its dual-motor layout but more torque, 650 lb-ft. It gets a unique suspension with a 20mm raise, specially tuned springs and MagneRide shocks.

The Mach-E Rally also gets red-painted Brembo brakes, rally-style alloy wheels, a front end recovery point, underbody protection that does not meet the “skid plate” standard and Michelin CrossClimate 2 tires with a tougher sidewall and better loose surface grip.

Visually, the Mustang Mach-E Rally looks the part with features like a rear spoiler, standard racing stripes and built-in, rally-inspired fog lights.

The Mustang Mach-E Rally also gets a Rally Sport driving mode

The Mustang Mach-E Rally gets a unique Rally Sport driving mode. It allows the car to slide more, makes the throttle input linear for better control and delivers more aggressive damping. Ford notes that it’s also good for snow and slick conditions if — like most Mach E buyers — you’re not rallying.

How much range does the Mustang Mach-E Rally get?

Ford says the Mustang Mach-E Rally has a 91 kWh battery pack. Ford is targeting a 250-mile EV range in EPA testing. The Mach-E Rally can charge from 10-80% on a DC Fast Charger in 36.5 minutes.

How much does the Mustang Mach-E Rally cost?

Ford has not given exact pricing for the Mustang Mach-E Rally yet. But they say the Mustang MachE Rally will start around $65,000 — about $5,000 more than current pricing for the Mustang Mach-E GT.
