Kia is pivoting toward electric vehicles. The brand has released its first EV-branded electric vehicle, the excellent and sporty EV6. The next vehicle in the pipeline will be the more family-friendly EV9. The EV9 is a boxy, off-road capable three-row SUV, basically an electric version of the World Car of the Year Award-winning Kia Telluride SUV.
We’ve already seen the EV9 in concept form. Here’s what we know about the production version so far.
How much does the Kia EV9 cost?

Kia has now unveiled the full pricing and trim lineup for the EV9.
- EV9 Light RWD: $54,900
- EV9 Light Long Range RWD: $59,200
- EV9 Wind e-AWD: $63,900
- EV9 Land e-AWD: $69,900
- EV9 GT-Line e-AWD: $73,900
Kia framed the starting EV9 price point — $19,000 more than the combustion Telluride — as affordable, going so far as to call it a “wake-up call to the industry.” However, it may prove more of a wake-up call for buyers looking for an affordable electric family crossover anytime soon.
If you want a Kia EV9 with more than 215 horsepower and all-wheel-drive — as we suspect most buyers will — you have to level up to the EV9 Wind-e-AWD trim at $63,900 or $65,395 when you add the mandatory destination charge. That pricing may not be that outlandish by EV standards. But it’s a sign of how far off EV pricing remains from combustion.
