The Cars We’re Losing in 2024

Plenty of cool new cars are arriving this year, but some of our favorites will have to make way.

Nissan

We’re just beginning the 2024 calendar year, but in the automotive world, that already means we’re about halfway through the 2024 model year. And while we’re excited for plenty of brand-new vehicles coming down the pipeline, we already know there are some cars that won’t be sticking around for 2025.

Here’s a rundown of the cars being axed for the 2025 model year.

Chevrolet Camaro

Chevrolet

The sixth-generation Camaro is ending production after the 2024 model year. The nameplate is expected to play some role in GM’s future EV lineup. But it’s not clear yet what type of vehicle (coupe, four-door coupe, coupe-like SUV?) that will be.

Ford Edge

Ford is paring down its combustion vehicle lineup as it pivots to building more EVs. That means the Consumer Reports favorite Ford Edge will depart, allowing its Oakville, Ontario assembly plant to retool for electric vehicle production.

Mini Clubman

Mini confirmed to Top Gear that its four-door Clubman wagon will end production with a final edition during the 2024 model year, as Mini fleshes out its EV lineup and focuses on the Countryman crossover as its “big” vehicle.

Nissan Titan

Nissan has confirmed that 2024 will be the last model year for its Titan full-size pickup. The Titan has never drawn close to the sales volumes of its competitors. Eliminating it will help create space for new EV production at Nissan’s Canton, Mississippi facility.

Ram 1500 TRX

Ram has already unveiled the all-new 2025 1500 pickup. Ram is eliminating the TRX’s 702-horsepower Hellcat V8 from the lineup, though, and shelving the TRX nameplate — for now. Ram will offer the RHO, a TRX facsimile with the 540-horsepower High Output version of the new Hurricane turbocharged inline-six. We do expect the TRX nameplate to return at some point.

Toyota Venza

Toyota’s Venza revival is going to be short-lived. The crossover, which debuted in 2020, will be axed after the 2024 model year. The Venza will make room for the all-new Crown Signia crossover (or wagon if we’re being honest).

Volkswagen GTI & Golf R Manual

The Golf GTI and Golf R will be refreshed for the 2025 model year. As part of that refresh, the cars will lose their enthusiast-favored manual transmission options. VW needed to axe the manual as an option to remain emissions-compliant in Europe.
